Scientific Technician

SUMMARY: Supports engineering department in the modification and/or repair in heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MRO’s. Reports to Lead Engineer to ensure airworthiness of heavy commercial aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assisting engineers with research and development of approved data for various avionics design modifications.
  • Act as a liaison to the avionics engineer.
  • Assist engineers in the testing of aerospace components, parts, and assembly, including work related to removing and replacing aircraft components.
  • Performing engineering technicians work for servicing aircraft including engineering design work associated with crankcase, cleaning screens, moving parts, and braking systems, under direct supervision by engineering personnel.

EDUCATION:

  • Aeronautical professional technical degree
  • Three years’ experience in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul on heavy commercial aircraft
  • FAA license preferred but not required for this position
